job

Travelling is fun and exhilarating in itself. Quitting your job and travelling can be the most liberating experience of your life.

However, if you do it unplanned, your adventure may backfire against you. Let us take a look at some ways that may help you to quit your job to travel and be a digital nomad like a travel blogger like me:

STAY DEBT FREE

Now, this may be hard for some people but you need to make sure that there are no outstanding dues on you. Use your credit cards sparingly and make sure that you constantly keep a check on your spending. It is only when you have this kind of financial freedom that you can think about quitting your job to travel.

BE READY for the CRITICISM

When you tell people about this exciting  idea, there will be some who will not like the sound of it. You will be facing a lot of naysayers who will term your idea as ” unrealistic”. Make sure you are ready for such criticism and that it won’t affect your spirits. When you have a plan, things really do become possible.

MAKE FULL COMMITMENT and STAY TRUE to It

Your commitment and dedication to the goal will decide if you will e ale to do it. Make sure you write your goals down and think about the steps that will help you achieve it. Take a look at your monthly spending. You may have to skip the expensive restaurant you always visited or may have to go the local library instead of buying a book.

FIND A REASONABLE TRAVEL RESOURCES

Now that you have saved some money to travel and ready to take the plunge, make sure you find a reasonable travel agency that offers special discount packages. You can also visit websites such as Perjero.com and Nomadapp.co to check cheap flights and itinerary based on your budget. Saving money on the way you travel will really come on handy when you actually reach the destination.

WORK WHILE TRAVELLING

To prolong their travel, some travellers work to ensure that their banks do not get broken. Sites such as Peopleperhour and Upwork allow you to find jobs online. This helps to keep you  working and make sure that you do not lose your vigour to work. Whether you are a graphic designer or a business consultant, a social media manager or a web developer. Now, I started to do online jobs as a social media manager to a US company which allows me to work 2 hours per day. When I was in Singapore, I did a travel speech from an event so that made me some bucks to earn. You will surely find thousands of jobs that suits you.

WRITE ABOUT YOUR TRAVEL EXPERIENCES

One way to make your adventure memorable is to write about it. Read some travel quotes to get inspired and become a travel blogger to share your experiences. As this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, make sure to make the most of it. Let the world know what you learnt from this amazing endeavour.

JUST GO NOW!

Well, if you procrastinate a lot, there may never come a time when you’ll be able to take this step. Remember that there is no right time for this. One you have decided, you have to take the big step.

Don’t be afraid and you’ll be fine!
